Engaging with OLTA products involves a range of risks. By interacting with the protocol, you acknowledge and accept the following non‑exhaustive risk factors.
Engaging with OLTA’s protocol and Structured Index Products involves exposure to various risks inherent in decentralized finance (DeFi) and crypto asset markets. Users must assess their risk tolerance and fully understand the nature of digital assets before interacting with the platform.
1. Market & Price
Digital assets are highly volatile and may lose substantial value in short periods.
Historical performance of any OLTA index does not guarantee future returns.
2. Liquidity
Secondary liquidity for IRT tokens or underlying assets may be limited or unavailable during market stress.
Large redemptions can increase slippage or delay execution.
3. Protocol
Interacting with smart contracts carries technical risks, including but not limited to code vulnerabilities, oracle malfunction, and network congestion. Users accept that losses arising from such events are possible and that OLTA provides no insurance or guarantee beyond what is encoded on-chain.
Despite undergoing audits and formal reviews, smart contracts may still contain bugs or vulnerabilities. Exploits may lead to a partial or complete loss of funds. Even with one or more tier-1 audit certification, the risk cannot be eliminated.
Oracle failures, network congestion, or blockchain reorganizations can disrupt pricing and operations.
4. Regulatory & Legal
Laws and regulations around digital assets and DeFi products may change, impacting the availability or legal standing of OLTA services in specific jurisdictions.
Users are responsible for ensuring that participation in OLTA complies with local laws, including securities, tax, and KYC/AML regulations.
5. Governance
Certain protocol parameters may be modified via governance votes. Outcomes might not align with every holder’s preference.
Even if all precautions are in place, governance attacks or low voter participation could negatively affect protocol decisions.
6. Counterparty & Custody
OLTA is non‑custodial; users retain control of their wallets. Loss of private keys or signing mistakes can result in irreversible loss.
Third‑party custody solutions integrated with OLTA carry their own operational risks.
7. Platform
Asset acquisition is conducted through third-party DEXs and CEXs. Even if OLTA prioritizes reputable platforms with deep liquidity and institutional-grade backing, those venues remain subject to technical failure, insolvency, or external attacks.
8. Force Majeure
Unforeseen events (e.g., protocol hacks, extreme market crashes, regulatory bans) may impair or suspend protocol functionality.
