Advanced Option Structures
As OLTA explores expanding its index-based derivatives offering, more advanced and customizable option types would be considered to cater to both institutional sophistication and evolving on-chain trading demand.
Potential Structures Under Consideration
OLTA would progressively explore the deployment of more advanced option types beyond basic vanilla contracts, such as:
American-Style Options: Exercisable at any time before expiry, allowing more dynamic hedging and opportunistic exits.
Bull Call Spreads: A long call paired with a higher-strike short call to limit premium cost.
Bear Put Spreads: A long put with a lower-strike short put for cost-effective downside exposure.
Straddles and Strangles: Direction-neutral strategies targeting high volatility environments.
Calendar Spreads: Exploiting time decay differences across maturities.
Barrier Options: Options activated or extinguished at specific NAV thresholds.
Range Accrual Options: Yield strategies based on NAV stability within a predefined range.
These structures would only be considered if:
Sufficient liquidity and accurate NAV modeling are available
Institutional users express demand for more complex strategies
Governance and regulatory pathways remain clear
User Experience Considerations
Strategy creation and execution would be fully on-chain
Preconfigured strategies ("one-click") may be made available
Risks and payoff diagrams would be transparently displayed pre-trade
Margining rules and liquidation risk would be strictly defined
Status
These features are currently under strategic review, pending validation of technical feasibility, regulatory approval, and institutional demand alignment.
